Central Area Coast Protection, Blackpool
This scheme is the largest ever Defra funded coastal defence project in the UK and runs for a length of approximately 3.5km.
Cleveleys Coast Protection Phases 2 & 3
This £19m scheme comprises construction of 1.1km of new coastal defences which will include the import and placement of 10,000 tonnes of armourstone and 150,000 tonnes of fill material.
Jubilee Gardens Refurbishment
This £0.5m project comprised upgrading and refurbishing an area of urban coastal frontage, known locally as Jubilee Gardens.
Morecambe Coast Protection Phase 7
Phase 7 of the Morecambe Coast Protection Works comprise beach replenishment to enhance the effectiveness of the existing coastal defences. The replenishment includes importation and placement of a total of 110,000 tonnes of sand and cobbles to four locations. The sand has been dredged from Morecambe Bay and the cobbles are a by-product of a land based sand borrow pit.
Maryport Harbour Refurbishment
Significant public realm improvements coupled with flood alleviation works were needed to ensure the on-going viability of Maryport Town Centre and maintain public safety.
Morecambe Coast Protection Phase 6
The Morecambe Coast Protection Works comprise some 300,000 tonnes of rock armour protection to the existing sea wall and construction of two rock breakwaters, one of these incorporating a platform for anglers, and reconstruction of the promenade.
