Health & Safety

Safety first, foremost and always

Our current rolling 12 month AFR is 0.07

Throughout Birse Civils, safety is the first item on all meeting agendas, from the plc board to individual project healthchecks.

Our approach to safety is proactively to develop a safety first culture in all our staff, subcontractors and suppliers. Exemplary safety performance cannot be achieved purely via policing.

Each regional business has a dedicated safety manager who audits the performance of all our jobs.

Twice a year, each regional business dedicates a day to raising the profile of health and safety in the workplace.

As Marshall Scott, Managing Director of Balfour Beatty Regional Civil Engineering states " There is nothing we do at work that is so important that we can't take the time to do it safely."
